179 Airlift Wing Signs Agreements with local Health Departments

May 11, 2016

The 179th Airlift Wing has signed a first-of-its-kind public service agreement among Ohio Air National Guard bases. The one-year agreement to help Richland Public Health and the Ashland County-City Health Department was signed Wednesday morning by Wing Commander Colonel Gary McCue, and Ashland Health Commissioner Sarah Humphrey. Humphrey says she welcomes the help, especially for the next flu shot season. Vice Wing Commander, Colonel Dan Tack, says this is an opportunity for the base's medical technicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners to help in the community and get training. Richland Public Health Commissioner Martin Tremmel signed the agreement later Wednesday morning. The 179th Airlift Wing is looking for other public service agreement opportunities, such as helping the city of Mansfield tear down blighted housing.
