Car Seat Program

Through Ohio Buckles Buckeyes (OBB), we offer child safety seats and booster seats to eligible low-income families. OBB is part of the Ohio Department of Health’s child passenger safety program.

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are not a known health risk as they do not spread disease.

Project Dawn

Project DAWN is an opioid overdose education and Narcan distribution program. Narcan is the brand name for the medicine naloxone, which rapidly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

CPR

CPR and AED Training

TB Testing

TB is a bacterial infection that usually attacks the lungs, but can also attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine and brain. Because not everyone infected with TB becomes sick, there are two TB-related conditions: latent TB infection (LTBI) and TB disease.

Sewage Treatment Systems

The Household Sewage Treatment System Program assures all new or replacement household sewage treatment systems are installed under permit and in accordance with local and state requirements.

Private Water Systems

Ashland County residents who are not connected to the public water supply may use a private water system (PWS) on their property. Source water from private water systems may come from wells, cisterns, hauled water storage tanks, ponds, or springs.

Nuisance Complaint

We perform complaint inspections for public health nuisances.
